Mesh Silica Sand
Silica sand used for water purification and manufacture of glass, glass industries, casting industries, building construction industries, foundry industries, synthetic foundry moulding catalysts, disodium ultramarine etc. it is also used for acid heat resistant ceramics, refractories, pottery glaze, enamel etc. Silica sand of 150 mesh is used in Sawing stone, grinding and surfacing glass and polishing marble.
Natural moulding sand contains a variable amount of clay which acts as a bond between the sand grains.
High silica sand for use in foundries is different from that used in glass and refractory industries. Sand for foundry purpose should have well-developed grading, preferred shape & size beside meeting the requirement of chemical composition.
The purity of raw material i.e. high silica content is essential with least Al2O3 for the refractory industry. Quartzite should be fine grained, compact & crypto crystalline type.
